Nature plays a role, of course, but we have selected the best lots of our grapes and have given them extra care and attention.
We use sustainable farming practices on the vineyard to preserve the environment, such as cover crops, irrigation and canopy management, wetland protection, mechanical in-row tilling, erosion control, and minimal use of pesticides and herbicides. We are using our "Weed Seeker" and "Rodinator" equipment to control weeks and rodents without using toxic chemicals. When possible we try to use lighter weight green bottles to reduce the carbon footprint. We take great pride and are passionate in what we are doing.
is the key to our success. In order to achieve consistent wine quality our approach from the beginning has been to be involved in all critical decision making. We selected the land, evaluated the soils, decided on the rootstocks and clones, and chose the spacing of the rows, type and adjustment of the trellising, irrigation systems, and canopy to allow just the right amount of light and air to bring the grapes to their highest potential. We also decided on fertilization, watering, thinning of the plants, timing of the harvest, selection of the winemakers, and “fine tuning” of the wine for premium quality.
Four Sisters Ranch is located in the Paso Robles AVA. For the last 24 years we have been growers, producing grapes and bulk wines for multiple renowned wineries, in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Texas and also for worldwide distribution. In 2008 we bottled (with great pride and passion) 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot wines under our own label. Since then we have many vintages of our award winning wines. Our wine is: " food friendly, very approachable, unexpected pleasure
..Chris Miller-Sommelier-SPAGOS RESTAURANT in Beverly Hills."
Paso Robles, sometimes called the next Napa, is known for its favorable microclimates and limestone rich soils. This, combined with warm days and cool nights, fosters the best out of the grapes resulting in exceptional depth of flavors and long finishes to the wine. Our ranch is a family affair named after our four daughters, Sacheen, Elan, Toccara, and Sierra, who each contribute uniquely to our success. As medical doctors Michael and Serena are excited about the cardiovascular health benefits of our wine.
The wines made from our grapes have won many accolades and awards, including medals at the Shanghai China Sommeliers Wine Challenge of 2010, the 2010 and 2012 Orange County Wine Society, the 2009 and 2012 Central Coast Wine Competition, and other awards.
Our wines have been served at many locations in California, including the Hyatt Hotel, Sheraton Universal, the Westlake Inn, fine restaurants, such as Wolfgang Pucks Bistro in Los Angeles, wine shops and other venues, and in Nashville, Tennessee and New York. We have served our wine at events at Universities in California, and New Jersey and several times at the Reagan Presidential Library.
We have hands on experience producing these wines. More than 24 years ago when we bought raw land on Highway 46 East in Paso Robles, California we planted our first vineyard. Centrally located between San Francisco and Los Angeles, Paso Robles is an optimal area for growing the Rhone varietals of grapes. With unbounded enthusiasm we transformed beautiful land with rolling hills and oak trees into a vineyard called Oak Creek Vineyard. There was no well, no electricity to pump the water, no irrigation pipes, no trellises or drip lines and no grape plants when we began. We carefully observed and learned from the development of that vineyard the necessary steps to produce a vineyard that consistently provides grapes for award winning wines.
With this success, we were able to purchase additional land on the Estrella River bank in the Paso Robles area. We named this land the Four Sisters Ranch in honor of our four daughters. After years of attending viticulture classes, working with experienced professionals and consultants we started developing the Four Sisters Ranch into the vineyard it is today. From putting in our first irrigation pipes, to choosing the clones and trellises, to supervising the harvest and the wine production we are hands-on in making these wines come to life. Serenas Vineyard is the area near the Estrella Riverbank. We work with our winemaker to insure the rich blackberry Syrah and the classy lush mouth feel of our Cabernet comes through.
We know how competitive the wine business has become and are quite mindful that quality is the key
to our success. We also decided on fertilization, watering, thinning of the plants, timing of the harvest, selection of the winemakers, and fine tuning of the wine for premium quality. We are out there in the vineyard to ensure the best outcome for the grapes and to produce the best product. Nature plays a role, of course, but we have selected the best lots of our grapes and have given them extra care and attention. We use sustainable farming practices on the vineyard to preserve the environment, such as cover crops, irrigation and canopy management, wetland protection, mechanical in-row tilling, erosion control, and minimal use of pesticides and herbicides, when possible recycling of the glass, etc. We take great pride and are passionate in what we are doing.
